Grieg's Holberg and Peer Gynt Suites nos. 1 & 2 are amongst his most popular works. Lars-Erik Larsson's tuneful three-movement Pastoral Suite, composed in 1938, is an apt companion piece to the Grieg works. Larsson studied composition with Alban Berg and is credited with being the first Swedish twelve-tone composer. The Wurttemberg Philharmonie Reutlingen is led here by Ola Rudner.
