Vinyl LP pressing. Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir's 2012 debut album Dyrd í dauðathogn, produced by Gudmundur Kristinn Jonsson, immediately recalls the heavenly vocals of Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and light electronic touch of British glitch pop sensation James Blake. His Icelandic lyrics however make for an easy distinction, and to non-Icelandic speakers sound as poetic as they really are. The songs are light and airy, inset with Ásgeir's distinctive melancholic voice their vibrancy elevates them way beyond the folktronica tag. Dyrd í dauðathogn quickly became the biggest selling debut album in Icelandic musical history and received six Icelandic Music Awards nominations.
