Description:
"In Dub (Conducted By Dub Spencer & Trance Hill)" is a CD release that takes the spoken-word world of William S. Burroughs into a deep, atmospheric dub universe shaped by the Swiss collective Dub Spencer & Trance Hill. The album builds on the contrast between Burroughs' characteristic voice and text fragments and spacious, bass-driven soundscapes, echo-laden guitar figures and hypnotic rhythm patterns. The tracks develop slowly, layering reverb, delay and subtle electronic details to create a cinematic listening experience that feels both experimental and accessible. Rather than aiming for radio-friendly songs, the production focuses on mood, groove and space, making the disc ideal for late-night listening or immersive headphone sessions. Fans of dub, experimental electronics and literary sound collages will find a carefully crafted work that invites repeated listening and reveals new details with every spin.
William S. Burroughs, best known as one of the key figures of the Beat Generation, became an influential voice not only in literature but also in audio art. His distinctive, dry delivery and the radical cut-up techniques he helped popularize have inspired musicians, performance artists and producers across genres. While his primary impact lies in groundbreaking novels and spoken performances rather than in conventional music releases, collaborations and posthumous projects like this one underline how strongly his work resonates with experimental and dub communities, cementing his status as a cultural reference point well beyond literature.
The CD is released by Echo Beach (with distribution via Indigo), a label known for its focus on dub, reggae-influenced sounds and adventurous crossover projects. Echo Beach often brings together producers, bands and vocalists from different scenes, encouraging reinterpretations and innovative dub versions rather than straightforward genre releases. Their catalog shows a clear passion for deep bass, studio experimentation and stylistic openness, so this album fits perfectly into their profile as a home for high-quality, forward-thinking dub productions that respect tradition while pushing it into new contexts.
If you like William S. Burrougs you must buy it!! If you like Dub Spencer and Trance Hill you must buy it!!! If you LOVE dub you must buy it!!!
