Raised in Detroit and Houston, Bennington's music resides in the rich musical heritage of the Texas free music camp (Ornette Coleman, Dewey Redman), and the fertile music school of Detroit's Jazz clubs. Matching headstrong urgency against tender lyricism, this CD opens new territory, revealing a stormy, eerily beautiful musical world where they and their listeners seem remarkably at home.
