Description:Raymond Scott Woolson has been creating guitar-driven ethereal music since the 1990's. "Broken Things Mended" is his fifth full-length album of celestial shoegaze soundscapes. Several years in the making, this release continues Woolson's exploration of soaring guitar epics and pastoral mood pieces. Previous albums "The View from Boggins Heights" and "Accidental Grace Notes" received glowing reviews from publications such as Losing Today and the Big Takeover. A fair amount of variety went into the mix of "Broken Things Mended". Here a shimmer of dreampop, there a buzz of psychedelia. A brush of piano, a burst of drums, and on several occasions a very commendable imitation of a string orchestra. Those in fact are guitars. This album is an ocean of guitar.
Produced at home with guitars and percussion. "Awake O Sleeper" includes piano, bass keyboard, and faux clarinet. No guitar synthesizers or sustain devices were used. © 2010 Raymond Scott Woolson
