Deluxe edition includes three bonus tracks. 2014 release, the third album from the Hip Hop star. Oxymoron is his first album released under a major record label to music retailers, whereas his first two albums were released independently to digital retailers only. The album's recording took place from June 2012 until late 2013. ScHoolboy Q enlisted collaborators such as Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Jay Rock, Tyler, the Creator, Suga Free and Kurupt among others. The album's production was handled by high-profile record producers such as Boi-1da, the Alchemist, J. Cole and Pharrell, as well as others, including members of Top Dawg Entertainment's in-house production team Digi+Phonics.

Track 1 contains interpolations of "Windmills of My Mind" written by A. Bergman, M. Bergman, M. Legrand. Track 9 contains samples from the Gary Burton recording "Las Vegas Tango" written by Gil Evans. Track 11 contains samples from "Something is Happening" as performed by Man (band).
