“The Curious City” is arguably the most intricate and listenable album by Modey Lemon from Pittsburgh, PA. This is the band’s first recording as a trio with the addition keys and synts to the traditional duo’s guitar and drums arrangements. Also, Phil Boyd’s singing on this album is clearer than on the band’s earlier works. Though, stylistically Modey Lemon’s music still perfectly fits Garage Rock and Acid-Psyche Rock niche. And of course, fans of the band’s past noisy dirgeness will appreciate 17-minute grand finale “Trapped Rabbits” for sure. Recommended CD for lovers modern days Psyche-Garage Rock.
