Description: | Telstar by Tornadoes, released 17 March 2014, includes the following tracks: "Chasing Moonbeams", "Swinging Beefeather", "Love And Fury", "Ridin' The Wind" and more.
This version of Telstar comes as a 1xCD. - Digitally remastered. Considered by many to be a one hit wonder (in actual fact they registered five chart entries, including two Top Ten hits), the Tornados were in actual fact a one-time serious threat to the chart domination of the Shadows. Of course, the hit with which they are most closely associated, 'Telstar', was a major success, topping the UK charts for five weeks and the US for three, prompting the release of a similarly titled album. If the name on the cover is that of the Tornados, then the contents were largely the work of one man, Joe Meek, who wrote three of the tracks and produced the entire album. Over the years, a total of 21 musicians would become part of the group, but nothing they, nor Joe Meek, ever did came close to matching 'Telstar'.Hallmark is a label owned by Pickwick Group Ltd."Telstar" by The Tornados is a classic CD release that captures the innovative spirit of early 1960s instrumental pop. Featuring the iconic title track "Telstar," which became the first British song to top the US Billboard Hot 100, this album showcases The Tornados' pioneering use of electronic sounds and space-age themes. Their music blends catchy melodies with futuristic production, making it a timeless listen for fans of vintage pop and rock 'n' roll instrumentals. Released by Hallmark, a respected label known for its extensive catalog of reissues and compilations across various genres, this edition ensures high-quality sound and packaging. Hallmark has built its reputation on bringing legendary recordings back into circulation at accessible prices.
