Fyvies Embrace features music by Niel Gow (1727-1807), Nathaniel Gow (1766-1831), William Marshall (1748-1833), James Scott Skinner (1843-1927) and from Simon Fraser's the Airs and Melodies Peculiar to the Highlands of Scotland and the Isles (1816). This album features Australia's master of the Scottish fiddle tradition, Chris Duncan, with pianist Catherine Strutt and cellist Julian Thompson. All the fire and passion of the golden age of Scottish folk music.
