EU-only release containing a pair of albums from the Jazz diva on one disc plus bonus tracks. With her slinky, alluring stage presence and her wink-in-the-eye purr of a voice, Eartha Kitt was an international star who gave new meaning to the word versatile. Combining a number of different musical genres (mainly vocal jazz, blues, and exotica) Eartha brought a definite zest to torch songs, and her vocals had a throaty vibrato that always sounded sexy. She also distinguished herself in film, theater and cabaret, while gaining greater fame playing Catwoman in the 1967 BATMAN TV series. This quintessential release presents two of Eartha Kitt' s finest albums, originally released by RCA Victor: DOWN TO EARTHA (1955), and ST. LOUIS BLUES (1958). These two outstanding LPs have been re-mastered and packaged together in this very special collector's edition, which also includes 4 bonus tracks from the same period.
