Digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of outstanding and long unavailable albums reuniting guitarist Herb Ellis with jazz horn greats. On NOTHING BUT THE BLUES, he is joined by Stan Getz and Roy Eldridge, while on MEETS JIMMY GIUFFRE, which includes Art Pepper, Giuffre plays tenor and baritone sax, and is also the arranger on the whole album.

1-8 originally issued as "Nothing But The Blues" (Hollywood, October 11-12, 1957) 9-15 originally issued as "Herb Ellis Meets Jimmy Giuffre" (Hollywood, March 26, 1959) Note: the solo guitar track "Patricia," from the second album, had to be omitted due to time limitations.
