In 2007, to add variety to her concerts, Holly Hoffman began including a few selections on alto flute to her set. The sound and tone of the instrument, coupled with her wonderfully expressive delivery, resonated strongly with her audiences. Some fans asked her when she would be making an alto flute album. It was not a concept she had previously considered. She decided to record this sublime, nine-song collection by exclusively playing the alto flute with an all-star rhythm section consisting of her husband and longtime collaborator Mike Wofford and close friends - guitarist Anthony Wilson, bassist John Clayton and drummer Jeff Hamilton.
