The show tells the story of farm workers moved from the country to the front in the first world war and the death of one of their number shot as a concientious objector. "A Day?s Work" was first written and performed in 1995. That version of the show was recorded and released as a cassette by Wild Goose Records in 1996 (WGS272MC). It was published in 1997 by Lyngham House (ISBN: 0 9528225).
