This nearly perfect set of piano jazz, captured at NY's Smoke Jazz & Supper Club, is Cyrus Chestnut's first live recording date. He is joined by bassist Curtis Lundy and drummer Victor Lewis, and together they take listeners on a musical odyssey that includes music by Billy Strayhorn, John Coltrane, and, John Hicks.

Recorded live November 22 & 23, 2013 at Smoke Jazz Club, New York City. The CD (copyrighted 2014) lists the recording date as November 22 & 23, 2014 but the liner notes here are dated May 13, 2014 and have an interview where the live date is discussed. Therefore, the recording date can't be later than May of 2014 so Nov. 22 & 23, 2013 is the likely correct date.
