Description: | As the title implies, the sequel to Time Out, Time Further Out (1961) indeed expands on the highly successful album that helped Brubeck gain stardom. Time Further Out yielded mesmerizing songs like "It's A Raggy Waltz" (3/4 timing), "Unsquare Dance" (in a 7/4 timing) and "Bluette", a laidback, open-till-late jazz club tune. The recordings sound fresh, easy-going and inventive at the same time. The use of weird time signatures are never without function: they keep the music interesting each time you listen to it. Respect is due to the excellent musicianship of altoist Paul Desmond, bassist Eugene Wright, drummer Joe Morello and of course the maitre himself, pianist Dave Brubeck. - 180GR. / INCL. BONUS TRACK"Time Further Out is a jazz interpretation of the Joan Miró painting 'Reflections' which appears on the cover of this album" (...) [Joan Miró is] "one of the great artists of the generation of Picasso and Matisse" (Dave Brubeck, 1961).
Bonus track: B6, from the same sessions but not included on the original LP (Columbia CS-8490).
