Out from the ambient musical gloom, French pianist Françoise TOULLEC offers US to go for a trip with "La Banquise en Eté" ("Ice Floe in Summertime"). Recorded in the year 2000, this unique album comes back brilliantly to the musical freshness and excellence of certain former projects that are dear to the Rock in Opposition French music school. Far beyond any rocky fury, here are peaceful atmospheres, softly jolting along between jazz that's free from any formal constraint and a contemporary music for forward children. The band here playing provides crystalline notes, merry and childish leaps of unexpected notes, calm and naive voices, inventive and luminous percussions.
