Description:	Nürnberg, November 1945. Gräfin Belavar (Iris Berben) erhält von der US-Militäradministration den Auftrag, ein Gästehaus zu leiten, in dem die Zeugen der Kriegsverbrecherprozesse unterkommen. Der Teufel steckt in einem wesentlichen Detail: Die Gästeliste umfasst sowohl die Zeugen der Anklage als auch der Verteidigung! Mitten unter Tätern, Opfern und Mitläufern des Hitler-Regimes soll Belavar nun mit festen Hausregeln und gepflegter Konversation eine kultivierte Atmosphäre schaffen. Ein wahnwitziger Plan, so scheint es - doch zunächst geht er tatsächlich auf: Man arrangiert sich miteinander und mit der neuen Zeit. Mit den ersten Zeugenaussagen vor Gericht gelangt aber immer mehr aus der dunklen Vergangenheit der Gäste ans Tageslicht ...
