Description:Best Of Osibisa is an album by Osibisa, released in 2014. The album is a rock 2-CD. -
Three original albums on 2CDs. Welcome Home (1975), Ojah Awake (1976) & African Flight (1981). Osibisa, led by sax player and drummer Teddy Osei, was originally made up of musicians from Ghana, Britain, and the Caribbean, and their easy-to-please mixture of highlife, rock, reggae, jazz, and funk helped define Afro-pop and paved the way to international attention for more challenging African acts like Fela Kuti and Thomas Mapfumo. The two-disc Best of Osibisa set collects three of their more interesting albums, Welcome Home (1975), Ojah Awake (1976), and African Flight (1981), making a more than adequate introduction to this popular group.
Tracks 1-01 to 1-09 recorded in 1975 at Round House Studio, London, GB - (P) 1975. Tracks 1-10 to 1-14, 2-01 to 2-04 recorded in 1976 at Round House Studio, London, GB - (P) 1976. Tracks 2-05 to 2-14 recorded in 1979 at Round House Studio, London, GB - (P) 1979. Many thanks to Keith C. Thomas & Christian Baldock of Prestige Elite Records Limited.
