The debut release by New Orleans R&B bassist James "The Sleeping Giant" Winfield. This is old school R&B that used to come out of New Orleans all the time and is getting rarer. Until now. On "Lonely Lonely Nights," Winfield is backed by a band that includes members of Walter "Wolfman" Washington's Roadmasters. He covers Guitar Slim's "The Things I Used to Do," the Earl King title track, Ray Charles' "Hallelujah, I Love Her So," Little Willie John's "Now You Know" and Chris Kenner's "Sick and Tired," among others.
Recorded February 15 and 16, 2005 at the Audiophile Recording Studios. Made in U.S.A. www.jazzology.com James Winfield is backed by a band that includes members of Walter "Wolfman" Washington's Roadmasters; musicians are uncredited, though.
