Descripción:	Die elfjährige Momo zieht eher unfreiwillig mit ihrer Mutter von der Großstadt Tokio an die japanische Seto-Inlandsee aufs Familienanwesen der Insel Shio. Trotz anfänglicher Schwierigkeiten gewöhnt sie sich an ihre neue Heimat doch die Gedanken um den letzten Brief ihres Vaters lassen ihr keine Ruhe. Als Momo eines Tages auf dem Dachboden ein altes Buch entdeckt, geschehen plötzlich seltsame und übernatürliche Dinge: So entdeckt Momo drei schelmische Kobolde, die nur sie sehen kann und die damit beauftragt wurden, sie zu beschützen. Alsbald stellen die unersättlichen Kobolde die sonst so ruhige Insel auf den Kopf und plündern Speisekammern und Obstplantagen. Doch die kauzigen Weggefährten haben auch eine ernstere Seite und es scheint, als wären sie der Schlüssel zum Rätsel um den unvollendeten Brief ihres verstorben Vaters ...
