Tyranny Of Souls

Bruce Dickinson has made a few records even without Iron Maiden - all very successful and unfortunately not so well known in the scene. I find 3 of his solo works outstanding: Accident of birth, chemical wedding and of course tyranny of souls. Great work!!!

I never understood why Bruce Dickinson needed to return to Iron Maiden in 1999, because his albums “Accident Of Birth” and “The Chemical Wedding” were an order of magnitude superior to the material of the “Iron Maiden” of that time. And again, when there was a break in Maiden's activities, Bruce records a solo album much stronger than the last work of his main group in all respects. In a solo career, Dickinson, in one way known to him, manages to change his style quite radically, while remaining recognizable and true to himself. “Tyranny Of Souls” is noticeably simpler than its predecessor in concept and somewhat lighter in sound, but at the same time, it is no less hit, bold and innovative. On the one hand, this is a return to classical heavy (even the guitar system is more “normal” than on “The Chemical Wedding”), and on the other, individual pieces sound almost in the spirit of modern In Flames. On the one hand, there are enough extreme action movies on the album, and on the other, there are beautiful ballads “Navigate The Seas Of The Sun” and “Tyranny Of Souls”. On the one hand, the disc is not connected by a common concept, and on the other hand, if you try to understand the texts, you will have an exciting, but very difficult job. On the one hand ... In general, “Tyranny Of Souls” is an event in the world of heavy music, which should be interesting to the widest circle of metallers, except perhaps for fans of mega-brutal and heavy gothic. All the rest are urgent recommendations: listen, reflect, discuss ... This CD is worth the time spent on it.
