Description:Imaginational Anthems 7 is a compilation of rock tracks released as CD on 6 Mar 2015. -
7th Installment of the acclaimed acoustic guitar series. Complied by 20 year old guitarist from Amarillo, TX, HaydenPedigo. First single, a track by Slowdive drummer Simon Scott, went out with press release/track listing first week ofDec.
Ten years ago, Tompkins Square released the groundbreaking compilation 'Imaginational Anthem, Volume One.' It was the very first release from the innovative record label and it set a tone of sorts, a contemporary survey of American Primitive guitar innovators. Over six volumes, the label has explored music from legends (Kaki King, Jack Rose, Sandy Bull, Max Ochs) and upstarts (William Tyler, Daniel Bachman). For 'Imaginational Anthem, Volume 7,' Tompkins Square turned to 20-year-old guitarist Hayden Pedigo. Pedigo cherry picked some of his favorite contemporary solo acoustic guitar tracks from around the globe, including tracks from Simon Scott, Sean Proper, Chuck Johnson and others. As 'Imaginational Anthem' continues to prove time and time again, the world of American Primitive fingerstyle guitar ? as established by figures such as John Fahey, Leo Kottke and Robbie Basho ? is alive and well in 2015.
