Live In 1960 by Jimmy Giuffre, released 17 August 2007, includes the following tracks: "My Funny Valentine", "What's New", "The Boy Next Door", "My Funny Valentine" and more. This version of Live In 1960 comes as a 1xCD. -

Jimmy Giuffre's 1960 recordings were few and far between. The two live performances contained on this CD represent his only small group sessions made during that year. The first one (chronologically, the second on our edition) was taped on February 23, at a concert in Paris. Giuffre would also record an album in Baden Baden, Germany in March, with a string group of the Sudwestfunk Orchestra conducted by Wolfram Rohrig. On May 26, he participated on three tunes for a Shorty Rogers LP, and in August he made an 'on location' recording at the Five Spot in New York, which opens our CD. The only other additions to his 1960 discography consist of a September session with vocalist Nat Wright and a John Lewis big band date recorded that same month.

Originally released as LP " In Person " in 1960 [Verve Records MGV 8387 / Mono] & [Verve Records MGVS 68387 / Stereo]. Tracks 7-10 are bonus selections previously unreleased. Tracks 1-6 recorded live at the Five Spot Café, New York, August 1960. Bonus tracks 7-10 recorded live at the Olympia, Paris, February 23, 1960. Digipak.
