Description: | 2015 album from the Folk icon, the first recording of all original Blake material in over 30 years. With a career that started in the mid-50s and continues to this day, Norman Blake continues to astound with his Country-Folk-Bluegrass guitar technique that transcends genre, technological changes and the whims of pop culture. He's been a mainstay in both the Johnny and June Carter Cash bands; he was on Dylan's NASHVILLE SKYLINE, played with Kristofferson, Baez and John Hartford; guested on the ground-breaking WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN album by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and was a contributor to the Coen Brothers' O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOUGH? motion picture and soundtrack and three other films by them. Blake has 38 albums, a signature guitar line from Martin and the adulations of players worldwide.Packed in a clear-tray jewel case with a photo-illustrated 6-panel folded insert that includes release information.
The first recording of original Blake songs in over 30 years.
Norman plays a 2004 Martin 000-28B Norman Blake Signature Edition guitar on "The New Dawning Day," and "Farewell Francisco Madero." Norman plays a 1928 00-45 guitar on all other selections.
