The fourth studio album by English band King Crimson, released in December 1971. Musically, the album expands on the improvisational jazz leanings of King Crimson's previous album, Lizard. I recommend.

This is probably the most polarized of all the Crimson albums. It seems as though people either love it or hate it. And I, absolutely love it. It's just so different from anything I've ever heard.

For me, this is the best album by King Crimson. It is absolutely unique. The first three before him developed a specific stylistic direction. Like three after him, until the break in the seventies. Island is in the center of this parabola. Island is an album-style or style-album.
