 | Description: | Digitally re-mastered and expanded edition of the classic 1971 album by the legendary progressive Rock group Audience. Along with Genesis and Van Der Graaf Generator, Audience were one of the key bands on the roster of the famous Charisma Label in the early 1970 s. Comprising Howard Werth (vocals, electric nylon string guitar), Keith Gemmell (saxophone, clarinet, recorder, flute), Trevor Williams (bass, vocals) and Tony Connor (drums, percussion, vibes), Audience had a fanatical following, particularly on the continent, where their Jazz-influenced brand of Progressive Rock proved popular (earning the band Top Ten status in Italy). The House on the Hill, released in May 1971, was the band's second album for Charisma and is arguably their most well-known. Produced by Gus Dudgeon, the album featured the legendary title track and classics such as 'Jackdaw' and 'You're Not Smiling'. This Esoteric Recordings reissue includes three bonus tracks (one previously unreleased) and has been re-mastered from the original Charisma master tapes. It features a booklet with restored artwork and an essay by Sid Smith with an exclusive interview with Howard Werth."The House on the Hill: Remastered & Expanded" is a deluxe reissue of Audience's acclaimed 1971 album, now available in an enhanced CD format from Cherry Red Records. This edition features remastered audio for superior sound quality and includes bonus tracks that provide deeper insight into the band's creative process during their peak years. Audience, known for their unique blend of progressive rock, art rock, and folk influences, achieved critical success with this album thanks to its sophisticated arrangements and standout tracks like "Indian Summer" and "Jackdaw." The band carved out a distinctive niche in the early '70s British music scene with inventive songwriting and dynamic performances. Cherry Red Records is renowned for its dedication to preserving classic albums across genres; as one of the UK's most respected independent labels since 1978, they are celebrated for high-quality reissues that honor musical heritage. | | No. of tracks: |
