Der einzige Hinweis auf die Bombenleger scheint ein skurriles Internetvideo zu sein. Zwei maskierte Jugendliche, die sich Sphinx nennen, kündigen darin die Explosion bereits einen Tag zuvor an. Und es soll nicht der letzte Anschlag gewesen sein: Denn Sphinx, stellen der Polizei immer neue Rätsel, die innerhalb kurzer Zeit gelöst werden müssen, um weitere Bombenanschläge zu verhindern. Der degradierte Chef-Ermittler Shibazaki scheint der Einzige zu sein, der die mysteriösen Sphinx-Rätsel lösen kann.
