Description:

Der brasilianische Rettungsschwimmer Donato (Wagner Moura) verliebt sich in den Deutschen Konrad (Clemens Schick), den er im Meer vor Fortaleza am Praia do Futuro vor dem Ertrinken gerettet hat und folgt ihm blind vor Lust und Liebe nach Berlin. Fern der Heimat muss er mit seinem neuen Leben und Konrad klar kommen und schwankt zwischen kultureller Entfremdung und erotischer Befreiung. Diese neue Beziehung bedeutet aber auch einen Bruch mit der Heimat: Donato bricht alle Kontakte nach Hause ab. 8 Jahre später reist Donatos jüngerer Bruder Ayrton ihm nach.
