Well the nocturnal texts and the dark songs are here; sure they are resultof an excellent workmanship, and also the themes that bind them, depicting a fairly fascinating spiritual concept: just think of the doom dance "The Plague And The Fire ", to the blues of "Demolition Queen ", to the epic poetry of a" Persephone "or to the apocalyptic delicacy of the ballads" We Disappear" (one of the best songs of this massive release)," Fallen Angels "and" Hymns To Damnation ". All great pieces, but cut off by a production that is really embarassing! especially if we consider the name of the historical band behind this album.Last painful statement: the unrecognizable DeFeis voice. He struggles, screams and goes into absurd falsettos. Unfortunately the current physical form of the vocalist is largely compromised, David should understand it and accept it. As long time hardcore fan of Virgin Steele, it's hard to write a similar statement, but De Feis should have been re-launch this band disfruiting other aspects of his artistical nature: no more voice, but his great talent in composing great songs, his talent in still singing soft ballads.
