Extra-Infos: Rundfunk S.o.berlin/ Marek Janowski
Description:Richard Strauss's original working title his Symphonia Domestica was "My home: A symphonic portrait of my family and myself" and was intended as a homely sequel to his Ein Heldenleben. Instead of the hero's struggle for supremacy, Symphonia presents a portrait of a family, with the husband, wife and child each characterized by themes. Strauss's Die Tageszeiten (1928) for male choir and orchestra set poems by Eichendorff to music in four romantic scenes: Der Morgen ('morning'), Mittagsruh ('afternoon rest'), Der Abend ('evening') and Die Nacht ('night'). Marek Janowski leads the BRSO.
Experience the brilliance of classical music with "Symphonia Domestica/Die Tageszeiten" in a premium SACD+CD format, performed by Marek Janowski and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin. This release features two masterworks: Richard Strauss's vivid "Symphonia Domestica," an orchestral portrait of family life, and Joseph Haydn?s evocative oratorio "Die Tageszeiten," which musically depicts different times of day. The combination offers listeners a journey through contrasting eras and styles, brought to life by one of Germany?s leading orchestras under the baton of renowned conductor Marek Janowski. Janowski is celebrated for his interpretations of German Romantic repertoire and has led major ensembles worldwide; his recordings have garnered critical acclaim for their clarity and depth. Pentatone, known for its high-fidelity productions, ensures exceptional sound quality that captures every nuance?making this edition a must-have for audiophiles.
