The second album of the new Burzum already captivates and intrigues with its design: starting with a fragment of a picture by an academic painter (by the way, a Frenchman; for some reason I am convinced that his French wife began to play a role in Varg's work) on the cover and ending with the material from which the booklet is made . Before putting the disc, take out the booklet from the box. Soft, soft-touch paper ... Flick through. Mythological subjects and some kind of cozy minimalism and laconicism of talent. The music began. The aggressive start of Jeg Faller is not surprising. But the onslaught subsides. Relaxing guitars, no swotting, nice clean vocals. We are still impressed by the design, now we touch the essence, and we understand what new music Burzum gives us now. Charm… ... a-a a-a-a ... jeg faller ... ... m-m m-m-m ... helt ned ... This is a pretty pleasant surprise. This record will not produce the “Belus” effect (and this is only because Varg is again on his own wave and you can roughly understand what he will pamper us with), but it will certainly please you. The sound is about the same as on the previous album, but ... a little warmer, God forgive me. The combination of vocals is a real find, I am sure, will be enjoyed not only by old fans, but also will attract new fans. The ending drum song sounds strange. But I love strangeness, especially if they end musical pieces (yes, I trudge from Gorgoroth's Domine In Virtute Tua Laetabitur Rex). I advise both those who like Burzum and those who do not like it.
