 | Description: | Zu Beginn des Ersten Weltkriegs brachte der deutsche Kreuzer Emdeninnerhalb von 2 Monaten 23 gegnerische Kriegsschiffe auf, bzw. versenkte sie. Das Gefecht mit dem australischen Kriegsschiff Sydney am 9. November 1914 dauerte weniger als 2 Stunden und war das Ende der Emden. Die deutsche Reichsmarine unterstützte 1926 die Produktion des Filmes Unsere Emden , die dieses Gefecht dokumentierte. Aus dessen nachinszenierten Aufnahmen montierten deutsche und australische Produzenten etliche neue Versionen. So fand auf den Leinwänden der früheren Kriegsgegner das Gefecht der beiden Schiffe immer wieder statt.
