Light and Shadows is the new album by internationally acclaimed British pianist Tom Poster. Lauded for his outstanding artistry, versatility, lyrical tone and sensitivity, Poster works with a wide-ranging and diverse group of soloists in the UK's classical scene. The choice of repertoire emerged from Poster's love of three key composers: Beethoven, Schumann and Chopin. Poster said of the recording, "I chose one of Beethoven's most relaxed and radiant sonatas juxtaposed with one of Chopin's darkest and most intense works. To balance I decided to perform Schumann's magical Waldszenen, a work of beauty and mystery, shadows and half-lights." This is a satisfying program of contrasting lightness and darkness.
