 | | Description: | Boy Trouble-Garpax Girls is a compilation of pop tracks released as CD on 31 May 2004. - W/ REV-LONS, DORIS WEBB, DIANA DAWN, SANDI SHORE, ...Hollywood maverick Gary "Alley-Oop" Paxton tried his hand at all sorts of genres back in the early-mid 1960s. His girl group recordings rank with some of his best, thanks to his tremendous stable of writers. The music on this 26 track CD was made from 1963-67 and leased to Paxton-run imprints like Garpax and Star-Burst. Most of these recordings are presented here for the first time from recently archived master tapes. Highlights include the Rev-Lons and their well-known title track, plus all their subsequent singles; the precocious Beverly Williams, who turns in some fabulous Spector-esque sides; classic swingers such as Diana Dawn and Mary Saenz; and even Paxton's wife, Jan. (Previously deleted:1/1/15. Original release date:6/4/04)Printed on back cover: "A cornucopia of girl group delights from mid-1960s Hollywood, gleaned from the incomparable vaults of maverick producer Gary S Paxton."
Tracks 3, 6-8, 10-14, 16, 17 and 19-25 are previously unissued recordings. All tracks are in mono, except 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 23 and 24 in stereo.
Tracklist on packaging rear incorrectly lists Beatrice "Kay" for tracks 7 & 25. Her real name was Beatrice "Lee".
