So Far, So Good... So What! Is the third studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth. It was released on January 19, 1988 through Capitol Records; a remixed and remastered edition including several bonus tracks was reissued in August 2004. It is the band's only album recorded with drummer Chuck Behler and guitarist Jeff Young, both of whom were fired immediately after the subsequent tour. So Far, So Good... So What! Features music performed at very fast tempos with technical ability; lyrically, frontman and guitarist Dave Mustaine addresses a variety of topics, including nuclear holocaust and freedom of speech. The record was well received among contemporary music critics, although retrospective analysis has been less favorable. It managed to enter the top 30 on the Billboard 200 with no commercial radio play; it charted in several other countries as well. The album was eventually certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and indicated Megadeth's forthcoming emergence from the underground scene. Remastered title presented on Limited Edition, 180-gram audiophile quality vinyl with original artwork and packaging. Includes 1 LP, gatefold jacket and printed sleeve with lyrics.
MASTERED BY CAPITOL is stamped on sides A/B in the runouts. This release uses the 2004 Remixed/Remastered version of the album. Pressing and mastering credits are identified in runouts. Catalogue number C1-48148 printed on spine. Catalogue number 509996 98170 14 printed on label.
"SO Far, SO Good... SO What!" is the third studio album by the legendary American thrash metal band Megadeth, released in 1988 on LP format by Capitol Records. This record showcases Megadeth's aggressive and technical musicianship with tracks like "In My Darkest Hour," "Set The World Afire," and a powerful cover of Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the U.K." The album reflects themes of political unrest, personal struggle, and rebellion?hallmarks of Megadeth?s lyrical style. Capitol Records, a renowned label founded in 1942, has been home to some of music?s greatest icons across genres. Their commitment to quality production has helped shape countless classic albums over decades. Megadeth was formed in 1983 by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine after his departure from Metallica. Known for their complex arrangements and rapid-fire riffs, they are considered one of the ?Big Four? bands that defined thrash metal alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax. With multiple platinum records such as "Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?" and Grammy-winning releases like "Dystopia," Megadeth remains an influential force in heavy metal history.
