This version of In Evening Air comes as a 1xCD. - The second album and first for Thrill Jockey by this Baltimore band. Some folks say they're post-punk, some new wave. Future Islands like to see themselves as "Post-Wave". Fronted by the enigmatic Samuel T. Herring, they're a mixture of gravelly, earthy vocals and electronic rock 'n' roll.4-panel digipak with clear tray.
Recorded at our house and Chester's house between July 2009 and January 2010 in Baltimore, MD.

"Long Flight" features samples of a recording of the STS-1 first orbital shuttle launch on April 12, 1981 at Cape Canaveral Florida.
This album title was inspired by the [a930842] poem of the same name.
