Description:Avalon the final studio offering from Roxy Music would draw upon a smoother, more adult orientated sound giving us the now iconic single â??More Than Thisâ??. Avalon would be yet another UK noâ??1 album staying there for more than three weeks and in the album charts for over a year. Consistently praised by critics Avalon Rolling Stone magazine wrote â??Bryan Ferry stars as a remarkably expressive keyboard player and singer whose familiar mannerisms are subsumed in a rich, benevolent self-assurance. And reed man Andy Mackay shines in a series of cameos (his oboe meditation on Ferryâ??s â??Taraâ? is particularly lovely). Ten years after its debut, Roxy Music has mellowed: the occasional stark piano chords in â??While My Heart Is Still Beating,â? for example, recall the stately mood of â??A Song for Europe,â? but the sound is softer, dreamier and less determinedly dramatic now. Ferryâ??s songwriting, however, has seldom seemed stronger.â? Each Roxy Music album has been Re-Issued with a fresh Half-Speed cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. London. To reflect the audio, all eight of the Roxy Music studio albums have had their artwork revised and with a gloss laminated finish so that each album is not just a record itâ??s a piece of art. -
Tracks include "The Space Between," "More Than This," "Tara," "To Turn You On," "The Main Thing," and more. All digitally remastered.

HYUNG RAE K. - 22/May/2021 4 of 5 Stars!
Avalon is silky smooth-rock perfection. Guitars chime and swirl, synths and pianos burble, and whorl, horns parp and punctuate, sirens trill enticingly, percussion bubbles, the bass stalks and pulses, and Ferry warbles and croons to bring it all together for Roxy Music's most best album.
