Alexander S. - 04/Mar/2020 The best song on the album is Echoes, starting as an instrumental with an interesting guitar playing and keyboard solo, becoming faster and more energetic; then the music slows down and becomes quieter - keyboards shimmer, accompanied by guitar chords - however, then speed and energy reappear; vocals suddenly appear (although a few minutes have already passed since the beginning) - we are told about the Navajo Indians who died in the war with the whites (not ours :-), of course, but generally pale-faced), however, you can still hear their war cries, spreading across the plains; after the vocal part, an excellent guitar solo sounds. Cool “Down on the Farm”, which describes the delights of rural life (for some reason, most city dwellers think that living in a village is super; for example, would dig up a couple of hundreds of potatoes — I would look at them!) the fateful beginning of which, with excellent riffing, then unexpectedly gives way to something completely opposite - the vocalist sings quickly, the music is simple, and animals shout in the background while playing the flute. The Sleeper instrumental looks somewhat eclectic, however, along with Echoes, it most closely resembles the band's early albums; ambient disturbing keyboards sound under a sad electric guitar, which seems to be plaintively calling, and then the music becomes energetic with a solo saxophone, and then a guitar.
In general, the album, of course, is far from a failure, because some things save him, but, damn it, how far is it from Camel's first works. Oh, once again we can say that nothing lasts forever, and musicians know this no less than everyone else.
| | HYUNG RAE K. - 06/Aug/2019 all song is good. especially, echoes, a wing and a prayer, down on the farm, rainbow's end is my favorite songs.
| | Ivica S. - 01/Apr/2018 An excellent album - the last album for Peter Bardens - a very melodic album (almost pop album) - I recommend
| | Igor V. - 09/May/2017 On this album the band's music becomes more simple and melodically poor. Domination in the late 70's disco music left its imprint on the work of Сamel. It's a shame that wonderful musicians began to perform unpretentious songs, oriented to the charts.
| | RODRIGO G. - 09/Nov/2019 Otro lindo trabajo de Latimer y compañía, en realidad todos los álbumes de Camel tienen un no se qué, un debber tenerlo en la colección.
