"Whatever You Want", Status Quo's third album to be produced by Pip Williams, still sounds like the most ruthless piss-take you've ever heard, became one of their biggest hits ever with the remainder of the album showing that there was more than one idea rattling around the band's heads at this point: "Living on an Island," with it's acoustic wash and mournful melody, was one of the most unexpected songs they'd made in years, while the likes of "Shady Lady," "High Flyer," and the wonderful "Who Asked You" all had a bellicose punch that defied anyone to accuse the band of stagnation. This reissue has six bonus tracks.

Tracks 1-10 originally released in October 1979 by Vertigo Records (9102 037). Track 11 originally released in September 1979 by Vertigo Records (6059 242). Tracks 12-15 out-takes from the original album sessions. Track 16 originally issued as a single in November 1979 by Vertigo Records (6059 248). All tracks (P) 1979 Mercury Records Ltd. except tracks 12-15 (P) 2001 Mercury Records Ltd. On CD label: Made In The EU. Writers for "Breaking Away" (track 10) incorrectly listed as Parfitt/Parfitt. The track length of 3:57 for track 11 stated on the back of the 16-page booklet is wrong. It is actually 3:36 (or rather just 3:34), i.e. "Hard Ride" here is indeed the original single b-side edit, not the slightly longer version from the "To Be Or Not To Be" compilation. Some years later it was clarified that track 12 ("Bad Company") was not written by Alan Lancaster or any other member of the band, but by three outside composers including the album's producer Pip Williams.
