Crises reached No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart and became Oldfield's most successful record of the 1980s following the release of the single "Moonlight Shadow", which went to number one in nine countries and sold in excess of a million units.

Аs for me Crises is the only and favorite Mike Oldfield's album thanks to such hits as "Moonlight Shadow", "Foreign Affair" with vocals by Maggie Reilly and "Shadow On The Wall" with vocals by Roger Chapman, the vocalist of the 70s art rock band Family. Also this 30th anniversary edition is remastered and contains 7 bonus tracks.

In my opinion, the best release (1983) from the English multi-instrumentalist, musician and composer. Undoubtedly, his main hits are here. A typical anniversary edition by Mercury, budget and cheap. This album is worth more luxury edition to have at home.

Despite the success of Tubular Bells, Crises it's Oldfield's approachment to a more commercial sound on his career in mid 80s. Balances his famous epics with radio-friendly songs. Highly recommended for those who are introduced in their work for the first time.
