Track 2-11 ends at about 8:55. After this, the last 3 seconds are looped for 18 minutes, recreating the locked groove found on the original LP. After this fades out, a hidden track plays which seems to be a brief outtake of "Oh Say Can You Do?". In total, the track runs for 27:17."Escalator Over The Hill" is a groundbreaking jazz opera composed by Carla Bley and released on CD by the renowned label Watt. Originally recorded between 1968 and 1971, this ambitious work blends elements of jazz, rock, avant-garde, and experimental music into an epic soundscape that defies categorization. Featuring an impressive roster of musicians including Jack Bruce, Don Cherry, John McLaughlin, Paul Motian, and many others, the album stands as one of the most innovative projects in modern music history. Carla Bley is celebrated for her adventurous spirit and compositional brilliance; she has been a leading figure in contemporary jazz since the 1960s with acclaimed works such as "Dinner Music" and collaborations with artists like Michael Mantler.
