In addition, Far Beyond Driven is not without ingenuity: a certain quintessence of the sullen gloominess of Vulgar Display of Power and the blues element typical for real rock music begin to form (these features will be even more tightly combined on the next record of the team). The result is obvious: "5 Minutes Alone" and "I'm Broken" are generally considered the "crown" numbers of the album. But it’s impossible to deprive the attention of the stunning "Becoming", the sickly "Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills" (the name speaks for itself), heavy "Strength Beyond Strength", "25 Years", and, of course, the most peculiar "Hard Lines, Sunken Cheeks and Throes of Rejection, where non-standard rhythms became a fix idea. And the cover version of the song "Planet Caravan" (Black Sabbath) evokes a slight longing for "Cemetary Gates" - in its mood it is very close to this Pantera masterpiece.
Very pleased with the fact that the rigidity on the "Far Beyond Driven" serves as an expressive means: alas, at some stage in the Pantera career, it will only become an obsessive label.
