"Undisputed Attitude" is a powerful CD release by the legendary thrash metal band Slayer, produced under the renowned label American Recordings. Released in 1996, this album stands out as a tribute to punk and hardcore influences that shaped Slayer?s early sound, featuring covers of iconic tracks from bands such as Minor Threat, T.S.O.L., and D.R.I., alongside original material like "Gemini." The raw energy and aggressive style showcased on this record highlight Slayer's versatility beyond their signature thrash roots. Formed in 1981, Slayer has been pivotal in defining the thrash metal genre with classic albums like "Reign in Blood," "South of Heaven," and "Seasons in the Abyss." Their relentless speed, dark themes, and technical prowess have earned them multiple Grammy nominations and an enduring legacy among heavy music fans worldwide. American Recordings is known for its diverse roster of influential artists across genres; under Rick Rubin?s leadership, it has fostered groundbreaking releases from acts such as Johnny Cash, System Of A Down, and The Black Crowes.
I don't know why a band of the level of Slayer decided to release a cover album, while they themselves received more than a dozen tribute albums with covers of their own work. It worked out well, but it's more of a collection album and nothing more.
