This group has always surprised me. Only two people, a minimum of music, a guitar and drums, everything is ingenious is simple ... Nevertheless, The White Stripes are very talented guys, and their music is simply ingenious. The secret to their success in Jack's sparkling game and Meg's simple drum parts. The album "Elephant" was probably their first work, which received worldwide recognition. The album took 1st place in the UK and 6th in the USA, and this should say something. As you know, Jack White is a lover of the old American blues, and The White Stripes music is closely connected with him. The album was recorded at Toe Rag Studios in just 2 weeks. When working on it, Jack used the old guitars of the 1960s, which gave the album an unforgettable sound - listening to it, you can’t even say that this music was recorded in 2003. The style of music on this album can be defined as a mixture of blues rock and grunge. There are a lot of good songs on the album, among which are: "Seven Nation Army" - well, it’s certainly an album hit, I think this song wasn’t heard only by the deaf. Riff cuts into memory and, I think, it can even be put on a par with "Smoke on the Water". "In the Cold, Cold Night" - the song is notable for the fact that you can hear Meg's vocals here. "You’ve got her in your pocket" is a beautiful acoustic thing. "Ball and Biscuit" - I think the central composition of the album, the stunning blues with crazy solos, the game and vocals of Jack remind Jimmy Hendrix. Also known hit from the album - "The Hardest Button to Button". Other songs also fit well into the album. Personally, I liked the CD. This, of course, is not a world masterpiece, but certainly the album of the year.
