Este disco marcó un antes y un después dentro del género gracias a su producción cruda y atmósfera helada; temas como ?Natassja In Eternal Sleep? o ?To Walk The Infernal Fields? capturan toda la esencia e intensidad sin concesiones propia de la segunda ola del black metal e influyeron decisivamente sobre innumerables bandas posteriores alrededor del mundo. There is little doubt that this album alone sparked the creation of countless copy-cat bands that continues to this day. All in all this album is flawless.
