Description: | The Marshall Tucker Band was formed in Spartanburg, SC, in 1971 and went on to become one of the major southern rock bands of the '70s, combining rock, country, blues, and jazz with innovative instrumentation from songwriter and lead guitarist Toy Caldwell. Their Record Plant session in Sausalito, CA, on May 8, 1974, produces near-visual flashes of energy and inspiration, confirming the acclaim bestowed upon their self-titled debut, which went gold in 1975.
