The band will kick off their 1996 World Tour with Metallica on Lollapalooza this summer; plans are underway for a European tour and more dates in the U.S.
Recorded at Studio Litho and Bad Animals, Seattle, WA. Mixed at Bad Animals, Seattle, WA. Mastered at A&M Mastering Studios, Hollywood, CA.
"Down On The Upside" is the fifth studio album by the legendary American rock band Soundgarden, released in 1996 on CD format by A & M Records. This album showcases Soundgarden's signature blend of heavy guitar riffs, intricate rhythms, and Chris Cornell?s powerful vocals. With tracks like "Pretty Noose," "Burden In My Hand," and "Blow Up the Outside World," the record explores a broader sonic palette than its predecessors, incorporating elements of alternative rock and psychedelia while maintaining their grunge roots. The production quality highlights both raw energy and melodic sophistication, making it a standout entry in their discography. Soundgarden emerged from Seattle?s vibrant music scene in the late 1980s and became one of the pioneering bands of grunge alongside Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Their breakthrough came with albums such as "Badmotorfinger" (1991) and especially "Superunknown" (1994), which featured hits like ?Black Hole Sun? that earned them Grammy Awards and international acclaim. Known for pushing musical boundaries, Soundgarden has left an indelible mark on modern rock. A & M Records is a renowned label founded in 1962 by Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss. Over decades, it has been home to iconic artists across genres including Sting, Sheryl Crow, Janet Jackson, The Police?and notably supported many influential acts during pivotal moments in their careers.

It's great to listen to an album you know for ages, but with a good twist. That good twist is the mastering. Like a new experience. If you love the album, you'll know what I mean. SOUNDGARDEN forever
