The third studio album by guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen, released in October 1986. The album reached No. 44 on the US Billboard 200 and charted within the top 60 in the Netherlands and Sweden. I recommend.

With this album, Malmsteen caught his wave. After a very good first two albums, the released masterpiece struck many listeners on the spot, including those behind the Iron Curtain. It's true! Exceptionally technical and virtuoso neoclassical metal broke through the border of the Union and the disc was absolutely officially replicated by the Melodiya company, bringing mad joy to Soviet music lovers. And there was nothing to be happy about. The unique combination of classical moves with ornate guitar playing, it seems, knows no time limits, the music does not become outdated and now looks quite modern. Well, the album itself sounds very solid, the tracks smoothly replace one another, forming a single piece. The impressions of each next composition are added to the impressions of the previous ones, and at the end, when the time of "Trilogy" itself comes, emotions completely overwhelm the brain and body, giving the listener unthinkable pleasure. (I don’t remember when I listened to it myself for the first time, but I know for sure that at that moment my roof fell off completely.) Undoubtedly, this work (of musical art) took an honorable place in many record libraries. And so until now it has not been surpassed by anyone, not by Comrade Malmsteen himself, or by anyone else. The unique style of "Trilogy" remained only open and no one followed this road further. Malmsteen slightly changed his orientation, later he only came close to the success of "Trilogy", creating again the powerful "Magnum Opus".

The milestone album of one of the most influential rock/metal guitarists ever! Here's the record where all Yngwie's talent got the needed spotlight, along with the superb vocals from Mark Boals and furious musicianship from Johansson brothers. One of the finest guitar hero releases!
