Unlike the other art rock bands I heard, Yes is more major and has higher vocals. In addition, their music has more guitar-keyboard arrangements than the influence of classical music. Of all the groups in this genre, this is perhaps the least tough and gloomy, which is greatly facilitated by the keyboards of Rick Wakeman and the vocals of John Anderson, which, frankly, is difficult to imagine in very gloomy themes. The cover of this work may claim to be one of the simplest - the bottom is green, the top is black, the greens smoothly turns into black. This album is the first - and very successful - Yes attempt to record only detailed topics.

Close To The Edge was first album I listened from Yes. It was love for the first look :-) So I had it on LP, later on used CD. Now I own remastered CD, enhanced release from 2003. And very last in my collection of Yes music is that first release on CD. I wanted to have new clear non played and good booklet. I recommend to all fans of prog rock music. It is top opus.
