"Body Count" is the groundbreaking debut album by the American heavy metal band Body Count, released in 1992 on CD format by Warner Bros. Records. Fusing aggressive thrash metal with socially conscious rap lyrics, this record became a cultural milestone for its fearless commentary on issues such as racism and police brutality. The album features iconic tracks like "There Goes the Neighborhood," "KKK Bitch," and especially "Cop Killer," which sparked nationwide debates about freedom of speech and censorship in music. Body Count was formed by rapper Ice-T, who brought together musicians from Los Angeles to create a unique blend of hardcore punk energy and hip-hop attitude. Over their career, Body Count has received critical acclaim for pushing boundaries both musically and lyrically, earning Grammy nominations and maintaining relevance across decades. Warner Bros. Records is one of the most influential labels in music history, known for supporting innovative artists across genres?from Madonna to Metallica?ensuring that bold voices like Body Count reach global audiences.
